Tainan, Taiwan-Beehive Fireworks Festival-This by far is one of the craziest events I’ve ever witnessed anywhere in my travels. Considered one of the world’s most dangerous festivals every year during the Lantern Festival in the town of Yanshui they honor the Lord Guandi a God for saving the people of their village from a devastating plague. Millions of firecrackers and bottle rockets are lit in the streets original to the act that took place in the 19th century that signalled an end to the plague. It’s believed to be good luck if you’re hit by one of the rockets, I have been hit several times and have one or two scars as proof.
