Sapa, Vietnam-Spend a few days here and you’ll fall in love with Vietnam’s Hill/mountain scenery. After awhile even the Hill Tribe ladies with their persistent approach to selling goods, homestays, and treks, “no talking”?, will amuse you! They don’t miss a beat! Mae Salong, Thailand-Akha Man and baby I met trekking in the hills. This is a pretty interesting town made up of old Republic of China nationalists turned drug runners, turned tea growers and several Hill tribe villages. Many still speak Mandarin in the village and there’s more tea houses per capita possibly than any other place in Thailand. Mae Salong is approximately 2 hours drive from Chiang Rai. I do like Chiang Mai but I really enjoy the vibe around Chiang Rai. Bangkok, Thailand-Pad Thai at Thip Samai, probably the city’s most famous restaurant that specializes in the dish. Wherever there are Thai restaurants in the world Pad Thai is usually featured on the menu. Why it’s so important if you’re a food lover to check out this restaurant when in Bangkok. At 5pm they fire up the charcoal and start stir frying up batches and batches of delicious pad Thai. The queue begins and usually doesn’t let up until after 11pm, they’re open til 2am. This plate is the deluxe version with juicy plump prawns and crab meat. Peanuts, chilies, bean sprouts, green onions on the side to add to your taste. The Petronas Towers at KLCC are still the tallest twin towers in the world surrounded by the city’s best hotels and shopping malls. Thuruvananthapuram Zoo, Kerala-A wonderful green space in Thuruvananthapuram, or for those like me who have a difficult time with the pronunciation, Trivandrum.
