Imperial City-Hue, Vietnam-Due to past wars, the French and Viet Minh battle in 1947, and in 1968 during the Tet Offensive most of the palaces and buildings were destroyed. You can still see bullet holes as you walk through some of the remains. What’s left and what’s being rebuilt/restored is striking! The ponds and temples are atmospheric and the most worthy of your time. I don’t think you can rush through Hue. The sites are spread out so you’ll need transportation, car/driver or motorbike.
