Varanasi – The Ganges At Night

Varanasi – The Ganges At Night

India

I’m in Varanasi India overlooking the great Ganges river. Hiring a boat to take you on a tour at sunrise or sunset is an absolute must for your stay here but for one of my tours on the river I hired one for the evening for a much different experience.

We started off at the very moving burning ghats where cremations are carried out 24 hours a day.

Because of the full moon that night there was a puja taking place at the Dashashwamedh ghat so we headed for the start of this beautiful celebration. Here are some short highlights.
