The Upper Mustang region is one of the most fascinating treks in Nepal. I have had the privilege of traveling through Tibet in China and my feelings were very strong upon entering the Upper Mustang. This must have been what Tibet was like before China gained control of the once independent country, I thought.
On one of the last few days of my last trek there I met a couple of horseman who were kind enough to pose for me.
Afterward we stopped nearby for a break at one of the oldest Buddhist Temples in Nepal, Lo Gekar, Gompa.
A group of ladies offered us some butter tea in one of the rooms of the temple and a couple of girls came over to meet me. I showed them my camera and the pictures I had taken that morning. Upon seeing the horsemen the eldest girl’s face lit up. “That’s my dad, my dad!”
